Job Responsibility Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance Sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting standards. Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with other departments. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide recommendations for cost control and improvement. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Interpret financial data and present findings to management for informed decision-making. Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures. Coordinate tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Work with external tax advisors to prepare and review tax returns. Manage cash flow, including cash forecasting, working capital management, and optimizing the utilization of funds. Ensure the availability of funds for operational needs. Coordinate external audits and provide support in the audit process. Implement recommendations from auditors to enhance internal controls and financial processes. Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals. Assign tasks, provide guidance and training, and evaluate performance. Evaluate, implement, and maintain financial systems and software to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Stay updated with advancements in financial technology. Contribute to strategic planning by providing financial insights, conducting financial Feasibility studies, and assessing investment opportunities. Job Requirements Professional certifications such as the certified accounting technician (cat) or the certified practicing accountant ( PA) can be advantageous and demonstrate a high level of competence in accounting principles and practices. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap), accounting Standards, and regulations is essential. Familiarity with local malaysian accounting Standards, such as the malaysian financial reporting standards (mfrs), is beneficial. Proficiency in accounting software in any of the following; sql. Familiarity with spreadsheet applications like microsoft excel. Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal for interacting with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Plus the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial professionals is valuable. Dealing with sensitive financial information, showing strong commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism is crucial. Handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. The ability to prioritize work effectively and manage time efficiently is essential. Able communicate in Mandarin as need to deal with stakeholders.
