Position Overview

The General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recording, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting. This role supports the finance team by maintaining financial records, preparing statements, and performing analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Handle bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow. Process invoices, payments, and expense claims. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation. Perform financial analysis to identify variances, trends, and improvement opportunities. Maintain proper filing and documentation for all accounting transactions. Coordinate with other departments on financial matters.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience (or fresh graduates considered for junior level). Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, Xero, QuickBooks). Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Good communication and teamwork skills. High level of integrity and professionalism.

Additional Preferred Skills (Optional)

Experience with tax submission (SST, income tax). Knowledge of payroll processing. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
