Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Preparation of Financial Statements:



Prepare the full set of accounts, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement, and statement of changes in equity. Reconcile all accounts, including those related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, transport costs, freight charges, inventory, and general ledger accounts. Ensure all logistics-related costs such as shipping expenses, customs fees, handling charges, and storage costs are properly recorded and accounted for.

Month-End/Quarter-End/Year-End Closing:



Assist in the closing process at the end of each financial period, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately. Review and process adjustments, accruals, and reclassifications related to logistics transactions. Ensure that financial statements reflect all relevant logistics-related transactions for a true and fair view of the company's financial position.

Accounts Reconciliation:



Perform reconciliation of accounts related to logistics operations, such as vendor accounts, freight charges, fuel costs, and payment settlements. Ensure all logistical invoices and payments are correctly reconciled and any discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.

Cost Allocation and Reporting:



Allocate expenses appropriately across different logistics functions such as transport, storage, distribution, and handling. Generate reports that provide insights into logistics costs, helping management optimize operations and reduce inefficiencies.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:



Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze logistics expenses and performance, providing insights into cost-saving opportunities and areas for operational improvement. Prepare detailed reports for management, highlighting major financial trends and variances in logistics costs.

Compliance and Regulation:



Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and industry regulations. Collaborate with auditors during the year-end audit, providing necessary financial data and clarifications.

Vendor and Client Communication:



Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and clients to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies. Ensure accurate invoicing and ensuring timely payments from clients.

Document Management and Filing:



Ensure proper organization and maintenance of financial documents. Maintain accurate records to support audits and regulatory compliance.

Assist with Budgeting and Forecasting:



Assist in the preparation of logistics-related budgets and financial forecasts. Provide financial data and analysis to support the planning of logistics and supply chain operations.

Key Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry. Experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, particularly in logistics or shipping operations. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulations, with a focus on logistics costs and operations. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of freight, transportation, and supply chain accounting practices is highly advantageous. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and recommend cost-saving measures in logistics operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with vendors, clients, and other internal teams. Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently while supporting the finance team and other departments.

Preferred Qualifications:



Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA (or pursuing) is a plus. Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management accounting. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Knowledge of international trade and import/export documentation.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
