E-commerce managers play a pivotal role in helping online stores connect with customers and boost sales. We are a perfume e-commerce company seeking an

experienced Account Manager

to take charge of our Shopify-based online store and drive website traffic and sales. This is an initially a

remote role

focused on managing all aspects of the Shopify platform's daily operations and executing digital marketing strategies to grow our online presence. With a possibility of a hybrid role, as the company expands. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in Shopify management with creative marketing tactics and data-driven decision-making to optimize our online store for maximum conversions and revenue.

Responsibilities

Shopify Store Management:

Oversee and maintain our Shopify e-commerce website, including managing product listings, pricing, and inventory, to ensure the site is up-to-date, visually appealing, and user-friendly. This involves performing regular site audits, fixing any issues, and ensuring smooth functionality for customers.

Digital Marketing Campaigns:

Implement and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies (SEO, SEM/PPC, social media, email campaigns, etc.) to drive high-quality traffic to the website and increase online sales. Work closely with marketing efforts to run promotions, discount campaigns, and engage potential customers across all digital channels.

Conversion Rate Optimization:

Continuously optimize the website for conversions by enhancing the user experience and customer journey. Use conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices - such as A/B testing page layouts, improving site navigation, and optimizing landing pages - to turn more visitors into buyers. Ensure that the checkout process is seamless and that site content is designed to maximize sales.

Data Analysis & Growth:

Analyze sales reports and web analytics data (traffic sources, conversion rates, customer behavior, etc.) to identify trends and opportunities for growth. Translate data insights into actionable plans - adjusting marketing tactics, updating product placements, or introducing new strategies - in order to meet and exceed sales targets. Regularly monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports on e-commerce performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners, such as marketing, design/creative, and product supply, to ensure the website content and promotions are aligned with overall brand campaigns and strategy. For example, coordinate the launch of new product pages with marketing initiatives and work with designers to create banner ads or graphics that enhance site appeal.

Website Design & Content Updates:

Update and improve the website's design and content on an ongoing basis to keep the online store fresh, engaging, and reflective of current promotions or seasons. This includes updating homepage banners, product descriptions, and images, as well as refining the site layout for better aesthetics and usability. Ensure that all changes maintain brand consistency and improve the overall shopping experience.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints to maintain a positive shopping experience and build customer loyalty. This may involve responding to emails or social media messages, resolving order issues, and working to turn unhappy customers into repeat buyers. Ensure customer satisfaction remains a top priority in all site operations.

Trend Monitoring:

Stay up-to-date with the latest e-commerce trends, Shopify platform updates, and digital marketing best practices. Proactively research new tools or features (e.g. Shopify apps, social commerce features) that could enhance our online store, and implement improvements to keep the business competitive in the online perfume market.
Qualifications

E-Commerce Experience:

Proven experience managing a Shopify-based e-commerce store (or similar online retail platform), including hands-on management of product catalog, inventory, and order fulfillment processes. Candidates should be deeply familiar with the Shopify ecosystem and capable of handling day-to-day store operations independently.

Track Record of Sales Growth:

Demonstrated success in driving e-commerce sales growth and meeting revenue targets in previous roles. The ideal candidate has a

data-driven mindset

and can show examples of campaigns or optimizations they spearheaded that resulted in increased online sales, higher conversion rates, or improved average order value.

Digital Marketing Knowledge:

Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels and techniques relevant to e-commerce, including search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing/pay-per-click advertising (SEM/PPC), social media marketing, and email marketing. Ability to develop and execute marketing campaigns across these channels to drive traffic and engagement.

Analytical Skills:

Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of web analytics metrics. Experience using tools like Google Analytics and Shopify's analytics/dashboard to track performance and inform decision-making is required. The candidate should be comfortable monitoring traffic, conversion, and sales data, and using insights to optimize the website and marketing strategies.

Communication & Customer Service:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate clearly with remote team members or external partners, and also handle customer service interactions professionally and empathetically. Strong written communication is important for crafting product copy and marketing content, while strong verbal communication helps in coordinating with any collaborators.

Organizational Skills & Autonomy:

Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. As this is a remote position, the candidate should be able to work independently, stay disciplined, and effectively manage their time to meet deadlines and goals. A proactive, results-driven attitude is essential, especially given the commission-based nature of the role.

Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with e-commerce and marketing tools. Experience with Shopify apps/plugins and basic understanding of HTML/CSS for website tweaks is a plus. Knowledge of other relevant platforms (e.g., experience with additional sales channels or marketplaces) and CRM or email marketing software is advantageous.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent professional experience in e-commerce and digital marketing). A strong foundation in business/marketing helps in strategic planning and understanding consumer behavior, though significant relevant experience and a proven track record can substitute for formal education.
Remuneration Details

Commission-Based Compensation:

This role offers a commission for every perfume bottle sold, incentivizing the Account Manager to drive sales and grow revenue. The commission rate is

negotiable

and will be determined based on experience and mutual agreement (rate is open for discussion with the candidate). This performance-based pay structure means your earning potential increases directly with the success of the online store. There is no strict cap on earnings - the more you sell, the more you earn.
