Accounts Receivable (AR)

About the role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable to own billing, collections, and cash application. You'll partner closely with Sales, Customer, and Accounting to ensure timely, accurate revenue collection and a great customer payment experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and issue accurate SOA/official receipt/credit notes according to contract terms. Monitor AR aging; follow up on outstanding balances via email/phone with a structured dunning cadence. Apply customer payments (bank transfers, checks, cards, gateways) and reconcile daily cash receipts. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short-pays, chargebacks, and unapplied cash. Maintain customer master data (terms, tax IDs, credit limits, billing contacts). Perform monthly AR close activities: reconciliations, journal entries, bad-debt. Prepare AR aging and collections reports; highlight risks and past-due trends to management. Partner with Sales/Invoicing to clear billing holds. Support audits with schedules and documentation. Assist in ad-hoc task assigned by manager/HOD

Qualifications

Diploma/Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2-4 years in Accounts Receivable, Billing, or Collections (Trading/retail/manufacturing experience a plus). Solid understanding of revenue cycle, credit/collections principles, and basic GAAP/IFRS concepts. Proficient with Excel/Sheets (vlookups, pivots) and AR Accounting systems (e.g., Autocount/UBS). Clear, professional communication; comfortable contacting customers to resolve payment issues. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment.

Reporting line

Reports to: Accounting Manager / Controller (adjust as needed).
Works with: Sales Agent, Customer Success, Invoicing, Finance controller (when needed).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
