We are looking for a passionate Accountant who will be responsible to carry out the Group Reporting & Controlling activities as per main responsibilities to ensure harmonious working relationship between group members, other teams and Managers.

This person will be working with Wil Wilhelmsen Holding (WWH), a comprehensive global maritime group providing over half of the merchant fleet with essential products and services, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail.

With a pool of more than 9,200 seafarers and over 500 shore-based employees all over the world, Wilhelmsen Ship Management is one of world\xe2\x80\x99s largest third-party ship managers with a portfolio of more than 450 vessels and counting.

The position will be located at Kuala Lumpur Sentral in the heart of Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and it is easy to get to by public transportation.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
System development and promulgation of changes to reporting & consolidation routines plus guidance. Co-responsible for documentations relating to consolidation system and Group Reporting routines/guidelines. Facilitate & support GRC team to comply with Group Reporting & International Financial Reporting Standards. Second line Helpdesk.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide timely support of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s financial reporting functions (such as day to day accounting function, financial statements preparation, provide support to local business units on financial reporting related tasks).
  • Review and consolidate submissions from local business units for various for external and internal reporting.
  • Ensure all required financial reporting and analysis are provided to Group Office timely, accurately, without compromising on the quality and in accordance to Group accounting policies and its related regulations.
  • Assist the manager overseeing deliverables from local business units, performing analytical review, and following up queries with local business units.
  • Ensure information received from the local business units complies with Group standards for both financial and management reporting.
  • Prepare analytical review, accounting journals, consolidation workings, reporting deliverables, Group announcement and financial statements in accordance with the group policies and external and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support Group Office and local business units on relevant Group financial reporting and analysis matters by providing timely and satisfactory response on all queries to enable business decisions.
  • Support various Group financial reporting related initiatives and coordinate with various departments in Group Office and local business units on rolling out of the initiatives.
  • Support the Manager to develop and recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders.
  • Assist in projects for any development, design, and implementation of new processes, controls and functionally changes to existing systems to improve current processes, controls, and overall effectiveness of the team.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Qualified Accountant with at least 1 year experience in audits and accounts
  • Sound knowledge of group consolidated accounts
  • Proven track records in group consolidation and reporting
  • Reporting \xe2\x80\x93 a proven ability to communicate information, both orally and written, in a manner and style appropriate to the intended audience
  • Demonstrate a service oriented approach towards recipients of financial reports: the corporate and business areas
  • Proven initiative, sound judgement and discretion
  • Sets and maintains high standards and consistently produces high quality work
  • Highly organized, with an ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage time to meet deadlines

  • Proficient in MS office applications especially MS Excel

  • Good command of English
