Accounting Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our finance

team. This role will support the Senior Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records

and ensuring smooth day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

? Assist with preparation and posting of journal entries

? Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations

? Support invoice processing and accounts payable workflows in Xero

? Provide assistance with cash flow management, including preparation of daily/weekly

reports

? Contribute to month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet

schedules

? Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by the Senior Accountant

? Maintain accurate and organised accounting records in line with company policies

? Assist in ensuring compliance with Australian GST and tax obligations (BAS support,

coding checks, GST accuracy on invoices)

? Provide backup support across the finance team as required

Skills & Experience

? 1-3 years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or assistant accountant role

? Hands-on experience with Xero (or similar accounting systems)

? Understanding of Australian GST and tax concepts preferred but not essential

? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT competency

? Strong attention to detail and accuracy

? Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

? Strong written and verbal communication skills

? Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a small team

Desireable

? Experience with month-end close and reconciliations across multiple entities

? Exposure to cashflow reporting and analysis

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
