Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of an accounting firm based in New York. Our respected client is seeking for a skilled and professional individual for the Team Lead role. This managerial position will play a critical role in training junior staffs, and providing clients with financial and taxation services, remotely.

Work hours: 4pm - 12pm Malaysia time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages growth, development, and teamwork among team members.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statement and cash flow statements.
  • Review financial reports for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation and accruals to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries and account reconciliation to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Monitor and analyse accounting date to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within the accounting function to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and stay up to date with industry developments to optimize financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as finance, tax and operations to provide financial insights, support decision making, and ensure alignment of financial goals.
*Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge within the accounting field.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; master\'s degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is a plus.
  • Proven experience, 10 years in accounting and financial management roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, etc).
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP Systems; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Mandarin, both verbal and written. * Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
