\xe2\x80\xa2 Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department \xe2\x80\xa2 Typing accurately, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records \xe2\x80\xa2 Preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements Job brief We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that the company\xe2\x80\x99s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department \xe2\x80\xa2 Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements \xe2\x80\xa2 Reconcile accounts in a timely manner \xe2\x80\xa2 Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide assistance and support to company personnel \xe2\x80\xa2 Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies \xe2\x80\xa2 Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas \xe2\x80\xa2 Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws \xe2\x80\xa2 Constantly update job knowledge Skill Requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 Preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures \xe2\x80\xa2 Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software \xe2\x80\xa2 Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports \xe2\x80\xa2 Accuracy and attention to detail \xe2\x80\xa2 Aptitude for numbers \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks \xe2\x80\xa2 Data entry and word processing skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Well organized
