The Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer is tasked with leading supplier evaluations, driving improvements through comprehensive audits and gap analyses, ensuring the quality and manufacturability of components by overseeing critical processes like DFM reviews and the PPAP, and working independently to address quality issues with suppliers. Additionally, this role requires proactive engagement in the enhancement of component quality and process during the NPI phase in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams, and expertise in quality tools such as 8D, SPC, Six Sigma, and 5-Why analysis, complemented by strong QSA and QPA audit skills.

You will be reporting to Manager, Advanced Supplier Quality.

What You Will Do

• Conduct assessments, audits, and qualifications for suppliers, including potential candidates, ensuring thorough evaluation and selection.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
• Lead and coordinate PPAP processes for "high-risk" components, while providing support for AQP/MIE in other component PPAPs.
• Collaborate with suppliers to perform gap analyses between project requirements and supplier capabilities, identifying opportunities for supplier improvement and fostering their development.
• Offer technical support and share expertise with on-site inspectors as needed.
• Engage in New Product Introduction (NPI) phase reviews focusing on project requirements and component DFM assessments.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of each key supplier\'s system and process capabilities.
• Participate in supplier selection reviews with the team and contribute to the final decision-making process.
• Identify opportunities for supplier enhancement, advocating for and facilitating supplier development in areas such as equipment, processes, and tooling.
• Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes for high-risk suppliers and components, and oversee PPAP reviews to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.
• Share relevant information with AQP, MQA, and MIE teams, and contribute to the creation of a lessons learned database.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Possess a Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years\' experience in supplier quality or advanced quality management.
• Technical knowledge of metal parts and their manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in statistical techniques and quality tools, with internal auditor certification for ISO 9000/IATF 16949 and strong auditing skills.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with common software applications.
• Good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• VDA 6.3 auditor certificate accredited by VDA/QMC.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge in stamping, machining, molding, and cage assembly processes
