About the Role

As Agile Coach, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the Agile related initiatives to enable the organization\xe2\x80\x99s new way of working through coaching and other change management activities for the adoption of Agile across the Group as well as other business units.

As an Agile Coach, you will be responsible for the adoption of Agile within AIA Malaysia, which will require working with people at individual, team, department and organizational level to achieve the following objectives & key results (OKR):

1. Enterprise agility by driving formation of networks of teams & increasing adoption of agility at scale:

  • You understand and have the capability to setup, execute & guide teams to work within Agile methodologies.
  • You advise, facilitate & work with agile tribes & teams in designing the team\xe2\x80\x99s structure to achieve the defined business goal; You understand the business need, map out accountable roles and responsibilities, align with each other within the teams & tribes on deliverables (OKR) and reconcile this with the organization desired business outcome. You ensure teams are set up with transparency to provide understanding from all levels including project sponsors and EXCO.
2. Maximized tribes & teams\xe2\x80\x99 performance to achieve strategic business outcomes:
  • You are responsible to create, organize & facilitate all Scrum ceremonies & events including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups (which can be facilitated by team members in rotation if it works best), Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective to ensure that these meetings are conducted efficiently with right people are involved to achieve strategic business outcomes and build towards a self-sufficient AIA Agile team.
  • You work with the Tribe or Team Leads and the team to ensure creation of product vision, goals, priorities and backlog refinement to ensure product backlog items are well-defined, estimated, risks and dependencies are identified and ready for selection in upcoming sprints. Before the Sprint Review, you may assist the team in preparing their product increments, gathering relevant data, and organizing the presentation to stakeholders.
  • You play an active role in recommending, advising, demonstrating and tracking the usage of methodology, tools (i.e., JIRA, Miro, etc.), metrics (i.e., velocity, burndown charts, etc) and processes (i.e., Big Room Planning & Quarterly Business Review that best fits a tribe or team to help them to gauge progress, effective collaboration, better performance, delivery, product quality, continuous improvement of tech and non-tech teams and drive transparency across organization.
  • Drive Agile community to share best practices, new ways of working and establish consistent rules and principles for Agile. You observe team daily activities, access and plan forward in raising the agile fitness & maturity of the teams and tribes.
3. Strong agile capabilities, foster new mindset & behaviors through Learning (Coaching, Training & Mentorship):
  • You provide hands-on support, coaching, training and mentoring to individuals and teams at all levels inclusive of senior/managerial to equip them with skills and understanding to support the adoption of Agile methodologies.
  • Encourage a culture that is open to changes and flexibility, allow experimentation, learning and empower teams to understand and believe in the product they are working. Embody and encourage mindset shift, continually assess and evolve the approach of Agile adoption to cater towards the organization\xe2\x80\x99s need.
  • Have strong communication, interpersonal skills and mentorship capability to inspire and motivate. You must be comfortable working with individuals at all levels and across departments, inclusive of people at ground level as well as higher management levels; local sponsors, leads and delivery teams to ensure targets and progress are communicated regularly in a transparent and agreed-upon manner.
4. Optimized agile teams related business process to enable greater agility\xe2\x80\x8b:
  • You are able to analyze, recommend and apply practices & process improvement best suited for the product, situation or individuals or teams in question.
