Job responsibilities: Crop Management: Monitor and manage all aspects of durian crop production, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, pest, and disease control, and harvesting. Soil Analysis: Conduct soil sampling, testing, and analysis to determine the nutritional status and suitability of soil for durian cultivation. Based on findings, recommend appropriate soil management techniques and amendments. Crop Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive crop plans, including crop rotation, intercropping, and other sustainable practices, to optimize productivity, minimize disease and pest pressure, and ensure long-term soil health. Pest and Disease Management: Identify, monitor, and control pests, diseases, and weeds that may affect durian trees. Implement integrated pest management strategies, including biological, chemical, and cultural control methods, to maintain optimal plant health. Irrigation and Water Management: Oversee irrigation systems and develop water management strategies to ensure adequate water supply and prevent water-related stresses in durian trees. Nutrient Management: Assess nutrient requirements of durian trees and develop fertilization programs to optimize plant nutrition. Monitor nutrient levels and adjust fertilization practices as necessary. Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in durian cultivation techniques, crop management practices, and agricultural technologies. Conduct research trials and experiments to improve durian yield, quality, and sustainability. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of crop management activities, including planting dates, fertilizer applications, pest control measures, and harvest yields. Prepare regular reports on crop performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. To develop and maintain the SOP for the operation of plantation. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the durian plantation team, including farm workers, supervisors, and managers, to ensure smooth operations and effective implementation of agricultural practices. Job requirements: Diploma, bachelor\'s in Agriculture, Crop Science, Plantation, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of durian cultivation practices, including soil requirements, irrigation, pest and disease management, and nutrient management. Familiarity with agricultural equipment and technology used in durian plantations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Proficiency in data analysis and record-keeping.
