This position requires basic knowledge of palm oil taxonomy, cultivation & management to obtain sustainable yields We are seeking for an Agronomy Assistant Manager (Agronomist) to base in our Sook, Keningau, Sabah plantation. Job Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage the implementation of Good Agronomics Practices (GAP) for estates. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide training and technical advisory services for Sabah Plantation \xe2\x80\xa2 Carrying out annual leaf, soil and fertiliser sampling as per requirement \xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct quality control check, troubleshooting field research experiment for oil palm yield improvement. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assisting in planning and monitoring on Integrated Pest Management, manuring recommendation, fertilizer, agrochemical and any agronomy trial \xe2\x80\xa2 Updating and producing Agriculture Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) \xe2\x80\xa2 Carrying out statistical analysis of various agronomic parameters and not just limited to yield, leave analysis or vegetative growth measurement. Requirements: \xe2\x80\xa2 Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/ Degree in Agricultural Science / Biotechnology / \xe2\x80\xa2 Microbiology or any other related field. \xe2\x80\xa2 Having about 1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in advisory work with an established research unit will be ideal. However, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in field research and knowledge in oil palm and sustainable agriculture will be an added advantage. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to work independently. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and IT skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge and field implementation of GPS/GIS or precision agriculture is an advantage. \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to learn, self-motivated, lots of initiative and have high degree of discipline. \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to work and live in plantation environment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong planning and organizational skills.
