Job Description

A Malaysian investment holding company which holds significant interests in PLCs across multiple industries such as media, telecommunications, property and oil & gas companies.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research on specific countries within the coverage, such as the US and Australia.
• Analyze the creditworthiness of existing and new sovereign-related credits for the fixed income portfolio.
• Research, analyze, and provide regular updates on movements in interest rates and foreign exchange markets.
• Stay updated with market developments, corporate news, market positioning, and perspectives.
• Assist in the management of the fixed income portfolio.
• Conduct research and monitor market movements to generate periodic outlooks on foreign exchange rates and interest rates. Also, provide hedging strategies and yield enhancement recommendations to the team (e.g., Treasury) and management.
• Communicate with fund managers and provide performance updates on equity funds.
• Contribute to process improvement and initiatives related to standard operating procedures (SOPs), such as reviewing existing policies, setting goals, assessing candidates, etc.
• Execute trades for foreign exchange and fixed income transactions.

Job Requirements

• Extensive research experience, particularly in macroeconomics, foreign exchange (FX), interest rates, or fixed income.
• MBA or a bachelor\'s degree with a first-class or upper second-class honors in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Desired qualification of completed or ongoing CFA certification.
• Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Familiarity, knowledge, and a keen interest in staying updated with market news.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels and a strong team player.
