Job Description


Responsibilities Regional Manager is responsible for the running of all the stores in his/her region in line with the company\'s policies and targets for operations & sales achievement. This will entail smooth and effective operations and sales achievement in line with the Company\'s targets, aspirations and vision. The aim of the RC role is to manage effective store operations within the region, maximize profits while minimizing costs. The RC has to ensure that sales promotions are accurate and merchandised to the Company\'s standards, staff are fully versed on the target for the day, week and month and excellent customer care standards are met at all times. Concurrently this role will also deal with talent management, marketing, finance, logistics, information technology, customer service, audit function on any related issues arise. Perform any other duties and tasks assigned to this role by the superior and/or the management and achieve the KPI set for the role from time to time. During the course of undertaking this role, there is also the need to oversee succession planning of staff from a front line perspective as well and to ensure that staff are developed and trained accordingly. Work closely with the Head of Retail Operations to analyse and interpret trends to facilitate planning. Use the IT systems to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning. Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revise opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market. Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives and monitor what local competitors are doing and provide feedback on the same to the Management Team. Operation Efficiency Work with store managers to plan and achieve store and region sales targets Analyze and interpret business trends, sales figures and use data analysis to advise initiatives to improve business. Ensure standards for in store display, marketing & promotion execution , customer service are met. Organise monthly review meetings for sales and store operations. Inform Management on business environment, competition, new market developments and other pertinent issues. Visit stores and tour sales floors, speak to customers and identify and resolve urgent issues that may arise or proactively suggest refinements to the workflow with required approvals from the Retail Operations Head and other stakeholders. Respond promptly & resolve customer complaints and comments. Submit daily operational progress reports and checklists as required by the management and to highlight any problems/issues. (e.g. sales achievement, stock requirements, maintancence & refurbishment requirements ) Update OPS/Mktg & HQ teams on business performance, new initiatives, market /competitor activities and other relevant issues on a regular basis Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees - following up on work results. Participate in pre-opening and opening preparation of new outlets & sales events Ensure store SOPs are followed. Monitor store stock levels by brand & sub categories for optimum sales and arrange for replenishment To report to the management any cases of deviations in store operations - e.g. stock loss, sales collection etc immediately Monitor visual merchandising and store look and work with VM team for store appearance as per company standards : Ensure the display and layout in the outlets are in accordance with the Visual Merchandise Guideline which had been set up by the Marketing function. Control costs while maintaining store optimum operations and look for operational cost savings. Ensure safety for employees and customers by maintaining clean and safe environment in stores. Liase with BD and PM functions on the issuance of the necessary licences/permits for the operation of the new outlets in the Region and to follow up with the relevant authorities, where required by the Management. Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control & replenishment based on stock ratio provided by Merchandising and FDP functions . Work with Marketing function to organize special promotions, displays and events as shown in Visual Merchandise guideline. Secure merchandise and assets in a safe and secure manner. Ensure that every store applies the established SOPs when it comes to managing stock movement, loss and that collection of sales proceeds are strictly adhered to. Should there be any shortage of sales proceeds or loss of stock, this must be immediately reported to the Head of Retail Operations and Management for their reference and action. Ensure that the stock inventory is sufficient at all times and to arrange for timely delivery of the same to the outlets as required. Where there is insufficient inventory, this must reported to Head of Retail Operations and Management immediately with recommended actions to address the same. Financial Accountability Ensuring outlet daily sales to be banked as per procedure: Submission of Daily sales summary with all supporting documents - bank in slip, credit card slip, vouchers etc Submission on DO and GRN within stipulated time. . Verify cash bills and cash bill reconciliation. Monitor all outlet expenses with approval from management. Monitor and control operating expenses for stores and staff. Human Resources Motivate and effectively manage the team to increase sales and achieve targets. Interview potential staff, conduct appraisals, performance reviews and provide critical but constructive feedback to the staff as well as provide for and organise training and development for them. Work with human resources, marketing, and product teams for sales staff trainings. Maintain staff discipline by ensuring all operations staff follow company policies. Maintain and manage staff strength efficiently within the budget allocated by the company. Timely submission of store staff attendance and overtime summary reports. Ensure that all staff are aware of the employment and operational policies that impact them and in so doing maintain staff discipline. Manage manpower numbers / staffing levels at the store level within the given budget allocated by the Company. Work with the Head of Retail Operations and CHRO in creating and enhancing an effective employer / employee relationship and in so doing work on proactively identifying people issues and considerations. Nurture talent within the Operations function for future succession planning and progression within the Organisation. This will include crafting of personal and professional development plans for those within the function. Audit Controlling stock losses below approved threshold at all times. Stock arrangement is as per standardized SOP- brand/category Follow up on audit reports for stores and resolve issues and prevent recurrence Ensure stores reach targeted KPI for audit ratings Qualifications Diploma or a Bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, finance, management, business administration or extensive experience as a sales manager. Minimum 5-10 years in Store Operations and Regional Zone Administration, with 2 years in a business and people management role. Excellent analytical skills and experience using data to drive decision-making. Strong people management skills & detailed oriented. Empathy. Ability to work independently with a sense of business acumen capable of presenting logical and well-structured proposals Track record in teamwork and achievement of results.
