Roles and Responsibilities: Perform system health check on the hardware and operating system (OS) of the machine Perform capacity analysis and enhance housekeeping jobs to cater for new system objects been introduce by the system Perform system performances analysis and tuning. Identify any jobs/services that taken up more system resources and fine tune it. Troubleshooting and resolving any system errors. Perform periodic operating system (OS) patching either due to fixes/bugs or any critical security patches been released Able to perform operating system (OS) upgrade, either for test or new partitions been introduce as a result from increase of support scope Able to manage and allocate AS400 system hardware resource via the Hardware Management Console (HMC) or through the operating system At least some exposure in handling IBM BRMS (Backup, Recovery & Media Services). It\'s one of IBM module in handling backup/restore. Eg. Add tape Check/Add Media policy (Retention), Check/Edit Backup items (Backup Control) Able to perform backup or restore of files/objects/libraries due to some urgent recovery Able to setup a job/module environment for new application projects to roll out Familiar on the use of virtual tape library (VTL) as the host is using tapeless backup for its application, ie Dell EMC Data Domain VTL Perform any BAU/Project change request been assigned Required to work on shifts on a rotational basis to provide 24 by 7 support with 2 days off. (9 hours per shift - 6:30am to 3:30pm / 2:30pm to 11:30pm / 11:00pm to 8:00am ) Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of AS400 system engineer role At least some knowledge on banking environment (although not mandatory) Excellent communication (spoken and written) skills. Should have a can-do attitude and team collaboration mindset to work independently
