Objectives of the Position

  • While APA is decentrally organized in many processes and systems and consequentially drives a decentral compliance framework, we strive to implement an increased level of coordination, central alignment and oversight to these processes without removing overall decentral responsibility and ownership.
  • The incumbent will be responsible to set-up an APA compliance framework considering both corporate as well as local business requirements and conditions, design the required scope and manage respective involved communities based on risk evaluations of existing processes.
  • Starting point would be in Commercial Excellence (ComEx), Delegated Indirect Procurement & Controlling (e.g. Business Partner Due Diligence, Key Contact for APA Indirect Delegated Procurement, defining a framework around Sales Rebates with ComEx)
Main Tasks

Acting as / on behalf of APA Compliance Officer
  • Responsible to create awareness and initiate action on Compliance topics in the APA organization.
  • Being the go-to person / first contact for compliance related questions for the entire APA organization.
  • Support APA in finding the right balance between required risk taking from a business & efficiency perspective and ensuring full compliance.
  • Enabling individual units in APA to set-up compliance related guidelines or address compliance topics in projects.
  • Coordinate input from Corporate Center, AP Compliance Officer & others and ensure an appropriate communication & training approach.
  • Being a supportive key contact for AP Compliance Office (besides APA Compliance Officer) and being an active part of the AP Compliance Community
  • Providing overall status overviews and / or deep dives on selected compliance topics to APA Leadership Team (ALT)
  • Follow-up of internal compliance audits within APA in alignment with corporate audit (COA) and AP Compliance Office. and as a consequence provide compliance lessons-learned and best-practice-sharing from these audits as well as compliance cases within APA
Define APA Compliance Framework / APA Process House
  • Collaborate with (regional) functions in APA to define an APA Process House
  • Drive definition of the respective ownership definitions both on regional and / or on market level
  • Define required level of availability of information / documentation and define a framework ensuring updated information
  • Discuss & challenge various process owners on compliance related topics, particularly in the design phase
  • Define a level of self-audit along the respective processes to ensure to maintain a high decentral ownership level
Manage APA Indirect Delegated Procurement
  • Act as APA Key Contact for Delegated Indirect Procurement
  • Align and monitor delegation scope
  • Lead, coordinate and enable "APA Procurement community", i.e. the teams in the respective markets in APA
  • Definition of the Internal Control Design along the underlying fundamental of APA Delegated Procurement as most efficient way to purchase the delegated scope (instead of focusing on optimal procurement results)
  • Ensure full adherence to AP Procurement Guideline & implementation of requirements and processes with suitable compliance measures
  • Managing training framework for AP Procurement in APA
  • Ensure sufficient transparency about procurement (volumes etc.) across APA
Continuous development & adjustment of APA Compliance scope
  • Self-driven and continuous improvement of APA Compliance scope and this role to maximize benefit of role and minimize APA compliance risk
Requirements
  • Education :
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, finance, legal studies, or a related discipline (a master\'s degree is preferred).
  • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Working Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in risk management and compliance roles, preferably within agricultural inputs industry
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and controls
  • Sound understanding & experience of operating in a complex and matrix organization with multiple reporting lines
  • Proven ability to drive topics without line authority
  • Proven expertise in compliance or audit related field
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge :
  • Team player with strong personal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Resourceful and able to work independently
