Manage, monitor, and oversee the accounting process prepared by the local accounting team, including General Ledger, Sub-Ledger (A/P,A/R), and Fixed Assets.
Review monthly journal entries and adjustments such as depreciation, prepayments, accruals, intercompany recharge, chemical cost recharge, and tax entries.
Ensure proper recording of A/P invoices, A/R invoicing, and offsets.
Review, analyze and maintain balance sheets, tracking the contents of accounts and perform reconciliations.
Prepare, review and analyze the month-end Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Accounts for financial and management reporting purposes (including project and/or business related analysis).
Prepare and review intercompany agreements such as rental of premise, equipment and intercompany loan.
Responsible for treasury management and reporting including but not limit to:
i. Prepare and monitor the weekly payment plan and payment process including all intercompany outgoing payments.
ii. Ensure banking system is properly setup and resolve issue (if any).
iii. Weekly term deposit placement.
iv. Liaise with bankers for new business loan applications, loan reviews, settlements (if any), and related document follow-up.
v. Involve in collection process and liaise with the respective project managers for overdue invoices etc.
2) External/Internal Reporting
Review and ensure timely submission of SST, VAT, e-invoicing and withholding tax in compliance with statutory requirements.
Prepare and responsible for the year-end financial reporting in accordance with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards requirements, including the external audit of such financial statements.
Responsible for annual statutory audit preparation include liaise with external auditor in providing information, responding on audit queries and finalize the audited financial statements.
Prepare and responsible for all compliance required by SSM and the Company Act.
Responsible for income tax filings including coordination with external tax consultants
Prepare and responsible for management reporting include but not limit to project cost reporting.
Assist finance manager in the preparation of the annual budget reports and perform variance analysis vs actual.
3) Others
Support and supply other functions with financial information upon request.
Drive continuous improvement processes and procedures in relation to the finance related matters, and improve finance internal controls.
Support, train and mentor interns and/or junior team member as required or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance.
Preferable 6-7 years working experience in Audit and Finance, with at least 2 years in a team lead role.
Experienced with accounting standards, requirements (e.g. end of month-end closing) and legal obligations
Demonstrated skilled using Microsoft Excel (Advanced).
Experience with accounting software i.e. AutoCount.
High attention to details and excellent data accuracy skills (details oriented).
Ability to adhere to strict timeframe constraints and deadlines oriented to ensure work requirements are completed.
Able to manage multiple task and priorities.
Well-developed communications skills both verbal and written.
Possess a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Able to develop strong working relationships with other stakeholders such as procurement team, project manager, chemical team and other operation team.
