Role Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven

Assistant Business Development professional

to support the growth of our

marine business in Malaysia

. This role is primarily focused on

hunting for new customers

,

generating new enquiries

, and

expanding our market presence

. The ideal candidate will be proactive, well-connected in the marine industry, and capable of maintaining strong relationships while supporting the team's performance and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the marine sector (e.g., shipowners, shipyards, marine contractors, logistics providers). Actively generate leads and convert them into qualified enquiries and sales opportunities. Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

Customer Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Conduct client visits, presentations, and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking sessions.

Team Coordination & Monitoring:

Support the Business Development team in Malaysia by tracking progress on leads, proposals, and project pipelines. Monitor team activities and ensure alignment with business goals and KPIs. Provide regular updates and reports to management on market developments and team performance.

Sales & Reporting:

Prepare and present sales forecasts, activity reports, and market intelligence. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, technical, finance) to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business development, preferably in the marine or logistics industry. Strong network within the Malaysian marine sector is a plus. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently. Willingness to travel within Malaysia as required.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
