What will I be doing?
As the Assistant Director of Safety & Security, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Leadership & Operational Oversight
Proven ability to assist in managing daily security operations, ensuring the safety of guests, team members, and hotel assets.
Capable of assuming full departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Safety & Security.
Skilled in assigning and supervising security post designations and shift arrangements.
  • Safety & Risk Management
Strong knowledge of fire prevention regulations and emergency procedures.
Experience in identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards across hotel premises.
Ability to plan and execute emergency drills and coordinate rescue operations during incidents.
  • Compliance & Documentation
Familiarity with legal and hotel-specific documentation requirements, including certifications, logs, and SOPs.
Ensures timely reporting and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Training & Development
Ability to conduct safety and fire prevention training for team members
Experience in delivering advanced training to Safety & Security Officers and organizing drills for the hotel's Voluntary Fire Brigade.
  • Investigative & Preventive Skills
Skilled in investigating fire incidents, criminal activities, and suspicious behavior within the hotel.
Proactive in implementing preventive measures and maintaining a secure environment.
  • Event & VIP Security Planning
Competent in developing security plans for high-profile events and VIP guest visits.
Coordinates with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless protection.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
Builds and maintains strong relationships with local law enforcement, fire departments, and other relevant government bodies.
Acts as a liaison to support hotel interests and ensure collaborative safety efforts.
What are we looking for?
An Assistant Director of Safety & Security serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
  • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Security Management or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a safety and security management role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Pre-opening experience is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in law enforcement, military service, or corporate security is an advantage.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of local laws and regulations related to safety and security, and is well-versed in implementing safety protocols that align with national legislation and municipal requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, access control mechanisms, fire safety infrastructure, and emergency response procedures.
  • Skilled in report writing, incident investigation, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Proficient in English; fluency in additional languages is considered an asset.
  • Certifications in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Crisis Management are preferred.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with effective team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
