Assist in the setup, operation, and monitoring of metalworking processes such as
machining, stamping, welding, CNC operations, and metal forming

Troubleshoot production issues and support the team in minimizing machine downtime.
Ensure production follows SOPs and process parameters.
2. Process Optimization & Engineering
Work with engineers to improve
production efficiency
,
cycle time
, and
material usage
.
Support new product introduction (NPI) and assist in process validation or pilot runs.
Collect and analyze production data to identify process bottlenecks.
3. Tooling & Equipment Maintenance
Assist in maintaining and servicing jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, and dies.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance of machines (e.g., CNC, lathe, milling, stamping presses).
Monitor tooling wear and request replacements when necessary.
4. Quality Assurance
Assist in conducting in-process inspections and final quality checks using tools like
calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauges, etc.
Support root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure products meet dimensional tolerances, surface finish, and material specifications.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of machine settings, inspection data, daily production reports, and tooling changes.
Update work instructions and standard operating procedures as needed.
Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and revisions to technical drawings or work documents.
6. Safety & Compliance
Follow and enforce
5S practices, workplace safety, and environmental standards
.
Ensure compliance with
ISO standards
(e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 depending on industry).
Participate in internal audits and safety inspections.
7. Continuous Improvement
Participate in
Lean Manufacturing
,
Kaizen
, or
Six Sigma
projects.
Provide feedback on design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements.
Suggest ideas to reduce waste, rework, or cost.
