Job Description


Our campus in Miri, Sarawak Malaysia is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Facilities Manager to support the Facilities Maintenance Manager who oversees the maintenance and upkeep of our campus facilities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor\'s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in facilities management or a related field. You should have a strong understanding of building systems, construction, and safety regulations, as well as experience managing budgets and working with contractors and vendors. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Facilities Maintenance Manager in ensuring that buildings, infrastructures and facilities are operating in the most cost-effective and efficient manner which includes smooth daily operation, mid to long-term planning on upgrades, maintenance and future campus expansion in line with the University\'s strategic plans. Coordinate and oversee operations, maintenance, administration and improvement of properties. Provide technical expertise to the campus services team in daily operations. Provide detailed drawings or sketches, specifications and requirements, and cost estimates for minor/major refurbishment works on the campus. Provide site supervision and close monitoring of all works carried out by consulting companies, builders, contractors, sub-contractors and a variety of suppliers to ensure strict adherence to materials and technical specifications, work standards, safety and timely delivery. Ensure that all regulatory compliance and OSH obligations are fully complied with and managed across the campus services-related works. Maintain records of maintenance and operating costs. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in facilities management or a related field. Strong understanding of building systems, construction, and safety regulations. Highly knowledgeable in OSH standards and processes. Experience managing budgets and working with contractors and vendors. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management software.
