The
Assistant Finance Manager
will be responsible for overseeing the Accounting, Finance, reporting, audit, and shared service functions for the region reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Coordinates, prepares, reviews, and ensures the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; project leads/manages the external audit of all gym entities, including liaising with external audit firms.
Develops annual budget and reforecast for each managed gym. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking
Analyses each gym's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
Coordinates and/or prepares tax schedules, returns and information.
Manages cash flow.
Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Provides leadership over all functions of finance in Philippine and Malaysia markets.
Conducts regular meeting updates with finance and operation teams as necessary.
Participates in the professional development of the finance teams per country in coordination with HR/Admin department.
Reviews and updates the policies and procedures on a timely and regular basis.
Process improvement: Develops improved and consistent reporting and close processes.
Efficiency improvement: Develops improved shared services and AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency.
Assist with various ad-hoc finance-related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
a) Chartered Accountant (CA / ICA / ACCA)
qualification - essential
b) Bachelor's or Master's Degree
in Accounting, Finance, or Business
c) 2-5 years
of solid professional experience in accounting or finance
d) Experience working with
multinational or multicultural teams
e) Exposure to
franchise
or
retail
businesses - preferred
f) Hands-on experience in
high-growth environments
g) Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
h) Self-starter who thrives in a
fast-paced, entrepreneurial
environment
i) Confident communicator and collaborative leader
