Assistant Manager, Human Resources, Asia Pacific

The People team is a key enabler at Warner Chappell Music of Warner Music Group and is focused on attracting, retaining and developing exceptional people, so they can be the best they can be and drive WCM\xe2\x80\x99s continued success in the marketplace. The team designs, implements and facilitates HR programs, including but not limited to Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Employee Engagement, Compensation and Benefits, People Technology and People Operations, to enable our leaders within the business. We partner with the business of Warner Chappell Music and Global Technology in the Asia Pacific region to support key organisational initiatives and are fiercely passionate about enhancing the employee experience!

This role will support the Director, Human Resources, Asia Pacific, partner with our business, and drive the people agenda. Operating as a Human Resources Business Partner to designated local and regional client groups for Warner Chappell Music and Global Technology, primarily in our Malaysia office and other affiliates in the Asia Pacific region, providing support on HR operational tasks and issues, effectuating the delivery of our People strategy and informing and challenging senior management thinking. The role partners with specialist People teams to deliver people initiatives.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide full range of HR services including but not limited to talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, learning & development, employee relation and employee engagement related initiatives.
  • Perform and manage data processing in HRIS, ensure the data are accurately processed and maintained in the HRIS, conducting regular data audit in HRIS
  • Prepare employment related agreements for new hires
  • Handle onboarding and off boarding for new joiners and leavers
  • Maintain regular HR analytics reports
  • Provide support on office admin for the Malaysia office as required
  • Perform full spectrum of compensation and benefits matters for the WCM offices in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Understand priorities, objectives and leadership styles in order to challenge and advise designated business leaders and managers.
  • Tackle strategic and operational HR issues, provoking thinking and providing business feedback to maximise overall employee performance and productivity
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders in designated client groups.
  • Provide advice leaders to continually grow and build high-performing teams
  • Support the Head of HR in workforce planning, organisational design and development, talent management and talent retention
  • Succession planning and supporting leaders to build training / hiring plans
  • Provide business insight and support through management towards resolution of cases
  • Partner to solve escalated issues, complex inquiries and end user / business requests
  • Own relevant/complex investigations, coaching managers and promoting peer to peer support and feedback
  • Manage and advise on policy change, process and employment law
  • Analyse people data and reviewing themes from exit interviews, and sharing appropriate feedback with management teams
  • Reviews and understands financial data (headcount, forecasting etc) to understand commercial impacts and opportunities related to people
  • Understand the business, its key drivers, culture and the changing environment to optimise organisation design for maximum value
  • Use people data to tell stories and analyse client group themes
  • Partner with People team specialists and global/international resources to leverage existing practices and knowledge to successfully deliver programs and initiatives
  • Assist in human resources projects as and when required
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management or relevant discipline
  • Experience in talent acquisition and management is a plus
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and its application in Malaysia. Knowledge in other related ordinance/regulations for different region would be a plus
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-growing, rapidly changing environment
  • High tolerance of ambiguity, resilience and flexibility
  • Creative critical thinkers and problem-solvers who use analytical skills to cut through complexity
  • Good analytical and able to draw insight from data and use/promote technology enablement
  • Advocates of the people agenda and culture champions
  • Capabilities in talent management, talent development, performance management, discipline & grievance, change management, restructuring and redundancy
  • Experience of working relatively autonomously with designated client groups and senior management, coaching where appropriate
  • Project management, change management and delivery capabilities
  • Culturally curious, inquisitive networkers who leverage insight from the external world and keep abreast of trends in the market(s)
  • Proven track record in generalist advisory/business partnering role
  • Good conflict management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Valid to work in Malaysia
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
  • Experience working within the music, tech or media industry, although certainly not essential
  • Regional experience working with client groups spread across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region
  • Experience of HR systems (Workday)
