Are you ready to take the next big step in your career? Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is looking for an Assistant Laundry Manager. His/her is responsible to manage day to day Laundy Operation for its external and internal guests.

The Assistant Laundry Manager manages the staff of the Laundry/Valet Department. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed. Ensures communications and follow-up on any problems, guest requests or special requirements.

Major Responsibilities

General

  • Is directly responsible for the day-to-day key processes in his/her area of work
  • Where applicable, acts as shift leader; leads and motivates colleagues by example
  • Assumes training responsibilities when required; demonstrates a high degree of standards awareness
  • Actively offers operational, employee and customer related feedback to management
  • Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden Rule
Departmental
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation in areas relating to the Laundry Department and to administer the supervision of all staff in conjunction with the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Properly schedule staff and coordinate the daily assignment of work.
  • Manage department labor to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity for the hotel.
  • Interview and train the staff. Hold team members accountable and discipline staff when needed.
  • Properly open the Department. Check night report and prepare the team for daily assignments.
  • Monitors daily assignments to assure that productivity and quality standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met.
  • Ensure communication and follow-up on any problems, guest requests or special requirements.
  • Resolve guest complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees.
  • Check daily for maintenance conditions and submit the work orders for repairs through Engineering Work Order and follow through or escalate to the Engineering Department.
  • Linen and Uniform quality control \xe2\x80\x93 clean and stocked.
  • Make inspection trips through entire Resort checking on production methods and procedures. Check washing formulas, making corrections and improvements whenever possible.
  • Comply with Four Seasons\xe2\x80\x99 Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact
Specific Responsibilities and Tasks

General
  • Actively participates in briefings and meetings; facilitates communication between internal and external guests and management
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment
  • Performs any additional duties as assigned by hotel management.
Departmental

Receiving related:
  • Ensuring that the laundry area is always kept clean and well organized.
  • Ensures proper quality control and documentation
  • Maintains stores in excellent physical order and ensures accurate documentation
Key Functions

\xc2\xb7 We are looking for individuals who possess a high proficiency with Microsoft Office and have working knowledge of Birchstreet systems.

\xc2\xb7 The ability to possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of the office is essential.

\xc2\xb7 Applicants must also have high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

\xc2\xb7 Applicants must be an organized people and have an attention to details attitude.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working in a resort or hospitality setting is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Bilingual (English and Malay) preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in Rooms Division (Housekeeping or Laundry) or equivalent with Four Seasons or another organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creates motivating work environment.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
