Job Description

Responsible for receiving and distributing work orders, function order and make necessary priorities, project orders to be endorsed and verified by Chief Engineer 2. Must have good general knowledge and know how on general engineering repairs, fabrication works, engineering installation works, repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, kitchen equipment, sound system and MATV system, sewage plants etc. 3. Prepare all relevant material and reports before presenting it during the daily briefing 4. Is responsible for work schedules and coordinates with Section Engineer or Team Leader on the completion as required and as per scheduled. 5. Is responsible for receiving and analyzing consumption report from Section Engineer, give comments if necessary and forward to Chief Engineer\xe2\x80\x99s attention 6. Is responsible for receiving consumption reports from Section Engineer and prepare statistics. 7. Is responsible for keeping complete set of structural / mechanical / architectural / electrical / ventilation / plumbing / furniture / drawing and paint scheme of entire hotel with physical plant. 8. Is responsible for communicating hotel general information, contractor\xe2\x80\x99s services, hotel general announcement reach or being communicated to all engineering staff. 9. Is responsible for keeping Chief Engineer informed without delay of any job progress, reports update, malfunction equipment and general guest complaints. 10. Is responsible for arranging all extra meals for employees / working overtime outside of their normal working schedule. 11. Is responsible for all PM activities, monitoring on updating PM checklist and equipment history card. 12. Is responsible for safety, good order and cleanliness throughout all engineering working areas 13. Is responsible for conducting and organizing Engineering staff meeting and briefing 14. Enforce and follows orders, instructions, rules and regulation that has been laid out as per standard 15. Learn his and the Chief Engineer\'s . 16. Must be able to carry the responsibilities as Chief Engineer in the absence of the Chief Engineer. 17. Conduct inspection as necessary to ensure that Chief Engineer\'s instructions are adhered to and completed according to standard 18. Keep Chief Engineer informed of happenings in the department. 19. To ensure that all safety rules and regulations are complied with as per standard. 20. To oversee and monitor spare parts/supplies sufficient in store and all are updated on a monthly basis by all section in charge. 21. Make sure that Engineering staff adhere to grooming standard. 22. Conduct department briefing and meeting and attend Head of Department briefing and meetings as assigned by the Chief Engineer. 23. Responsible for all the operating system undertaken by Engineering Department. 24. Assist Chief Engineer to prepare and present monthly P&L as required. 25. Assist to prepare and present monthly POMEC budget and rolling budget as and when required by Chief Engineer. 26. Assist to prepare and present CAPEX budget as and when required by Chief Engineer 27. Enforce and follow all instructions / rules and regulations that has been laid out by the department and management 28. Carry out inspection of any outside contractor\xe2\x80\x99s work in the building to ensure that all jobs are done satisfactorily before signing for verification and final approval by Chief Engineer. 29. Maintain a close working relationship with all relevant departments to ensure better coordination, cooperation and communication for a smooth and flawless operation 30. Checks and communicates with all the various head and section heads regarding any engineering or maintenance challenges and requirements. 31. Monitor and ensure all measures carried out to minimizing breakdown in order to maintain and extend the life span of operating equipment, machinery and materials. 32. Monitor and ensure measures taken to up keep the maintenance of building FF&E in terms of the general protective and decorative senses of the hotel building interior and exterior. 33. Monitor and supervise on the fire evacuation procedures together with Chief Engineer and Chief Security Manager and ensures that all personnel involved in the firefighting team are continuously updated and reminded of the procedures. 34. Carry out any other related tasks assigned by the hotel / company. Requirements: 1. 5 years experience in hotel industry 2. He must possess a Diploma and/or engineering trade qualification in any related technical fields and with a minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 background experience in hotel industry 3. Strong technical hands on experience and knowledge of the entire engineering operation. 4. Pro-active and self-motivated individuals with the ability to work independently. 5. Able to meet tight deadlines with required standards. 6. A good team player with strong drive and ability to deal effectively with the team member. 7. Hands - on with in - depth technical knowledge.
