Achieving this through the consolidation, simplification and continuous improvement of processes across the full range of HSBC operations, the division simultaneously takes responsibility for managing operational, location and processing risk and ensuring that services provided are at a best-in-class price point for the required quality level.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our payments team in the role of Assistant Manager Banking Operations.Role PurposeThe jobholder is responsible for the following:

  • To assist in planning, implementation and maintaining the operations processes and procedures to support.
  • To assist the Line Manager in ensuring the compliance\xe2\x80\x99s requirements are adhered in accordance with Bank and regulatory requirements.
  • To ensure proper systems management and methodology from time-to-time accordance to any new changes or regulatory requirement.
  • Provide oversight for Account Servicing, Account Closure, Market Execution and Regulatory Reporting involving SREF as well as StatSmart. This includes ensuring good, thorough MI is produced on production outputs and the same is published in relevant monthly Governance forums.
  • Liaison with various internal stakeholders and work closely with WPB in handling customer/branch complaint/queries.
  • Third Party engagement with CROWN for liaison activity involving Department Record Retention Schedule.
  • To support Business Contingency related requirements and act as the BCP Coordinator for WPB Operations.
  • Provide Transaction Line Monitoring on outstanding balances on all suspense accounts owned by Banking Operations and manage exceptions by ensuring balances are substantiated and cleared in accordance with agreed time frame. This includes escalating and reporting to relevant functions and line management.
  • Management Information, other required data and communication are completed accurately and supporting statistics/reports/returns are presented within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain strong operational and process management disciplines within the offshore business teams to ensure consistency in meeting / exceeding the agreed service standards.
  • Proactively identify and improve on service delivery. Execute initiatives to increase business partner and client satisfaction through improvement in quality and consistency of service delivery to achieve mature and sustainable operating model.
  • Other than managing the Banking Operations work done from onshore and GSC, the role also manages complaints from frontline and frequently meets-up with Local Enforcement Agencies (LEA) to provide statements on Bank\'s behalf as well as liaise with external lawyers for freezing order, garnishee order, voluntary liquidation, writ of seizure, winding-up order, and bankruptcy checks. This also involves reviewing all disclosure requests from regulators, law enforcement, courts, and other central government authorities and act as the contact person for HSBC on any ongoing investigation by Local Enforcement Agency as well as attend court sessions as a witness to corroborate with documents submitted to Local Enforcement Agency.

  • Contribute towards department\xe2\x80\x99s AOP by providing an efficient and error free operational process.
  • Managing operations cost to achieve AOP.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issue raised by external regulators.
Requirements
  • Preferably a degree qualification with 3 to 5 years of related working experience;
  • Strong knowledge of Banking Services and Operations;
  • Strong team player with an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible working style;
  • A team leader who is able to lead, motivate and guide a team;
  • Strong communication and analytical skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently;
  • Good at multi-tasking and able to prioritize jobs that are time critical;
  • Able to work under pressure and for extended hours whenever required;
  • Strong interest in improving the current processes and enhancing customer service;
  • Is customer-oriented and maintains a proactive approach in problem solving.
