Our opportunity for you:

We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Assistant Manager, Fund Accounting on a full-time basis.

Purpose of the role

This role will be reporting to Senior Manager or Manager, Fund Services.

Scope

The incumbent will lead a team of accountants and be responsible for overall delivery of fund administration services to real estate funds managed by leading fund managers. Be the key point of contact for assigned clients and own their service experience. The manager is responsible for the team\'s achievement of key objectives and results. In addition to deep real estate accounting knowledge, this role requires strong client relations and team management skills. We are looking for hands-on leader who shares our commitment to people and client service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a client service team and be responsible for overall service delivery to assigned clients. Be the escalation point for day-to-day client issues
  • Plan and coordinate the team\'s client deliverables within committed deadlines and service standards
  • Manage staff\'s work load. Train and coach staff to meet service delivery.
  • Review management accounts, financial statements and other deliverables including NAV calculations, capital call/distribution notices, fee calculations and investor communication.
  • Advise clients on relevant accounting matters.
  • Understand fund agreements and documents and guide the team on the understanding and application of key terms
  • Strengthen client relationships to support growth of revenue from current clients
  • Oversee client communications and prompt follow-up of service requests
  • Coordinate with colleagues in other Vistra offices on client deliverables
  • Coordinate with clients\' other service providers, including offshore accountants, asset/property managers, auditors, law firms, and banks to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Lead the onboarding of client accounts to Yardi and engage with internal service team to implement client specific requirements. Contribute to Yardi enhancement efforts and UAT of new functionality
  • Engage, develop and retain talent.
  • General administration and projects as assigned
Attributes & Skills:
  • Strong client relations and team management skills
  • Analytical, meticulous and organized
  • Able to plan, coordinate and multi-task
  • Independent and resourceful with strong desire to learn
  • Experience in process improvement will be viewed favourably
Relevant Experience:
  • 7 years of accounting experience including with private equity/real estate funds or in real estate industry, part of which must have been in a managerial role.
  • Prepared consolidated group accounts
Education/Professional Qualifications:
  • Degree in accountancy. Professional accounting qualification
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS. Knowledge of US GAAP would be an advantage
Computer Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of EXCEL and MS Word
Languages
  • English proficient
