The Opportunity:

GFX team in GSC, within the bandwagon of GMO and GR Service Delivery, provides Operations delivery to various entities across the Globe. Supporting GFX Trade Verification & Control Process in ensuring the accurate checking and verification of Market operations that is performed by Middle Office. Ensuring Group standards (F.I.M.) are adhered to at all times and Best Practice Guidelines are followed wherever possible. To assist in managing the Operational Risk and Control areas of GFX.

What you'll do:

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Active involvement in enhancement confirmation template projects
  • Interface with the Change Management team by providing insight on the process and assisting with CQ prioritization
  • Active involvement in industry and market initiatives
  • Fully support all Departmental projects and user testing
  • To continually evaluate existing processes, challenging current procedures and suggesting enhancements as appropriate, in order to improve the Customer Service Proposition and increase levels of efficiency and STP at all levels and enhance controls
  • To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account off changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management
  • restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies
  • Active involvement in working groups by gathering feedbacks from end users and providing input to the
  • business on platform and design enhancements
  • Work closely with the operations team to identify and take on internal process improvements projects
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Timely and accurate delivery of the assigned task

  • Ensure all confirmations timeliness are adhered as per regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all client queries and escalations are attended to in a timely and efficient manner

  • Client issues are proactively identified, resolved, escalated and appropriate measures are taken to improve quality and prevent recurrence

  • Enhance systems and business knowledge relating to customers / processes and cascade to teams
  • Take full ownership of process performance and ensure all monthly PLAs are met
  • Ensure structured training plans are followed through for all new joiners

Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Analyze Manage the day to day work of the confirmation drafting by maintaining the quality and accuracy.
  • Attend and contribute to Onshore Business Confirmation Template Enhancement and other risk reporting calls
  • Analyze and take ownership of identified root causes to reduce reoccurrence of manual work and contribute to increase of STP rate
  • Produce and publish global MIs within the product line
  • Standardize KRIs, KPIs, and KQIs to create a globalized way of reporting PLA, in accordance to business requirements
  • Maintain and review error logs within product area, and liaise with Business Partners and other Operations teams to identify the Root Cause and work to minimize the team's risk exposure
  • Responsible to perform and maintain all quality checks, which includes but is not limited to, call & email monitoring and QMS checks
  • Identify and manage Operational Risk for the process by carry our effective Operational Risk assessments, monitoring and implementing risk mitigating plans and escalating potential risks that may arise
  • Participates in site-wide initiatives and best practice sharing sessions
  • Procedural changes / new initiatives are fully communicated to and implemented
  • Contribute to contingency planning for the teams / sections

Global Service Delivery (GSD) is an end-to-end offshore banking and financial services provider. Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
  • The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
  • Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:
  • Minimum 2 years of FX Options Product & Process knowledge
  • Well versed on Market Events performed in the booking systems i.e Murex
  • Able to interpret and understand fixing sources published on Reuters and Bloomberg Terminal.
  • A degree in accounting / finance / management / business administration. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.
  • Good Communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Possess knowledge on MS Office with good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Leadership skills, with ability to build rapport with and relate to and effectively develop a wide range of people.
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge appropriately, understand and interpret numeric data.
  • Ability to understand and speak fluent English; composes business letters and reports, presentations and has good conversational / telephone skills.
  • Experience in preparing and publishing MI Reports.
  • Good Management skills and initiate improvements.
  • Able to cope under challenging environment with tight timelines.
