An exciting Assistant Merchandising Manager (Retail Chain) job has just become available at one of the most respected global retail chains based in Malaysia. Reporting directly to the Senior Merchandising Manager, this is a role for a merchandiser who is a leader in their field. About the Assistant Merchandising Manager (Retail Chain) Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for negotiating terms with suppliers to achieve the best deal for the company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate terms of purchasing with suppliers to achieve the best deals for the company
  • Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
  • Ensure delivery of products are on time and compliance with the contracts of purchase
  • Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget
  • Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already on the shelves
  • Analyse and plan for yearly promotional products and events
  • Analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends
  • React to any changes in customer demand
  • Liaise with the Department Head and Store Manager to ensure supply meets demands
  • Be resourceful for new products/festive products
  • Manage any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the management
To succeed in this Assistant Merchandising Manager job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix. Key Requirements:
  • Proven work experience in merchandising
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening, presentation and decision-making skills
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to \xe2\x80\x9cdecode\xe2\x80\x9d customers
  • Degree in marketing or a related field
