About the role

The Assistant Production Manager will support the goals and programs established by the management team to continually improve the company's operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Production Manager for overall management of the production department, provides assistance to the warehousing and raw material receipt personnel as needed.

• Ensure the daily production targets are met.

• Coordinates the short-term production planning to ensure products are manufactured and delivered on time.

• Responsible for process and finish plant efficiency and ensure the yields are achieved.

• Ensure safe working procedures are followed in the process and finishing plants and warehouse.

• Training of production executives, technician, existing operators, and contract workers on new processes/products.

• Trouble shooting/assist in development of new products/processes as well as plant optimisation and improvement.

• Involve in expansion project in terms of designing, constructing and commissioning.

• Ensure good housekeeping in all process plant/packing/finishing areas.

• Ensure quality of intermediates and products are achieved. Assist to investigate on customer complaint / nonconformity product with root cause analysis further on corrective action.

• Liaise with government bodies on regulatory/quality matters

• Act as internal auditors for all the management systems.

• Preparation & review of plant operating manuals / SOP/ WI

• Responsible to ensure all Safety, ISO 9002, ISO 45001 ISO 14001, GMP and HACCP system or procedures are implemented and complied. Continuous improvement on documents/checklist.

• Responsible for discipline of all production workers.

• Ensure proper plant operation records/log, breakdowns and raw materials and finished goods stock/inventory.

• Ensure efficient operation of effluent treatment plant.

• Proper communication of changes/new procedure by having tool box meeting.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• The Asst Production Manager should be in possession of a Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university
• The Asst Production Manager should have a minimum of five years working experience in oleo chemical/chemical process industry.
• Experience in process development including optimisation and new product introduction.
• Project experience in design, construction and commissioning.
• Working experience with ISO 9001 Quality System, ISO14001, GMP, HACCP & 5S is an advantage.
• The Asst Production Manager should be able to express ideas effectively in both individual
