As the only University of Southampton (UoS) campus located outside of the UK, University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) has come a long way since its inception in 2012 with a mission to be a leading institution for research, teaching, and innovation across Asia.

With the demand for high-quality business graduates increasing over the years across Asia and the wider global community, UoSM established the Southampton Malaysia Business School (SMBS) to run programmes of the UoS School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences, and the Southampton Business School, UK.

UoSM is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to develop leaders in many disciplines who make a difference globally. Our programmes are taught by staff who are engaged in world-class research and cutting-edge professional practice and our students are at the heart of our ground-breaking work.

As part of its expansion plans, UoSM has now moved into its new 150,000sq ft state-of-the-art estate in Iskandar Puteri. The new campus is equipped with a myriad of open learning spaces, lecture halls, an Aerospace Lab, a Design Studio, Business Experimental Labs, and a 12-terminal Bloomberg Suite to enhance the quality and learning experience throughout the students\xe2\x80\x99 journey with us.

From the initial offerings of four Engineering programmes, UoSM has now grown to offer 20 programmes in the fields of Engineering, Business and Computer Science fields.

Currently, among all the British universities with a campus in Malaysia, UoSM is the only one that is ranked in the world\xe2\x80\x99s top 100 universities* and the Top UK University in Malaysia*.

With the establishment of Southampton Malaysia Business School (SMBS) , we are looking for suitable candidates who can contribute to UoSM\xe2\x80\x99s 2021-2026 strategic plan, with the aim of making SMBS the leading research-led business school in Asia. We are recruiting faculty members as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the following subject areas:

Auditing
Economics
Financial Reporting
Financial Technology
Management Accounting
Management Science
Digital Marketing
Taxation
Time Series Econometrics

Essential Selection Criteria:
Have a doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification in the related subject area.
Have relevant teaching experience. (Please state the modules which you have taught in your CV)
Have contributed to curriculum development.
Have a track record of publishing in high-ranking journals defined by the Academic Journal Guide 2021 of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) or the ABDC Journal Quality List 2019 of the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC). (For each of the published articles listed in your CV, please indicate the ABS and/or ABDC tier)

Desirable Selection Criteria:
Have published in the journals which are tiered with a minimum of 3 by ABS and/or A by ABDC.
Have secured research grants.
Have experience in managing knowledge exchange.
For the positions in Auditing, Financial Reporting, Management Accounting and Taxation, it is desirable to have a professional accountancy qualification recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Furthermore, it is an advantage if candidates have knowledge of accounting analytics.
For the position in Management Science, candidates should be able to teach modules in these areas: Business Simulation, Optimization and Applied Regression.
For the position in Economics, candidates should be able to teach modules in these areas: Games, Choice and Decision, and Behavioural Economics.
For the position in Time Series Econometrics, candidates should be able to teach modules in these areas: Empirical Finance, Business Forecasting, and Time Series Modelling.
For the position in Financial Technology, candidates should be able to teach modules in these areas: Digital Technologies, Technological Innovation, Fintech and Cryptocurrency.
For the position in Digital Marketing, candidates should be able to teach modules in these areas: Marketing Analytics, Digital Marketing Applications, and Managing Digital Design and Web Development.
