Assistant Supervisor - Fresh

Job Summary:

The Assistant Supervisor - Fresh is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the meat and seafood section. This includes assisting in staff supervision, maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene, ensuring proper inventory levels, and providing excellent customer service. The role plays a key part in ensuring the freshness, safety, and presentation of all meat and seafood products.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the department supervisor in overseeing daily operations of the meat and seafood section. Ensure all products are fresh, properly labeled, and displayed attractively. Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering, receiving, and rotating inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles. Supervise and support staff with daily tasks, ensuring efficiency and adherence to food safety guidelines. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment according to health and safety regulations. Cut, trim, weigh, and package meat and seafood products as needed (if trained and certified). Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service. Assist in resolving customer inquiries and complaints professionally. Help train new staff members in department procedures and product knowledge. Support in planning and implementing promotions, special displays, and seasonal changes.

Requirements:

Experience in a retail or supermarket environment, preferably in meat or seafood. Basic knowledge of meat and seafood handling, preparation, and storage. Understanding of hygiene and food safety practices. Strong communication and leadership skills. Physically fit - able to lift and carry heavy items, work in cold environments, and stand for long periods. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Team player with attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
