Job Description


:Initiate underwriting and coordinate with relevant persons both internal and
external to provide the high level underwriting standard to market. Ensure all
underwriting operations are in accordance with underwriting guidelines of the
company and to achieve company objectives and goals.Major duties and responsibilities

  • Manage quotation, underwriting including risk assessment, negotiation of terms
and conditions, confirmation of acceptance in accordance to Company and
Statutory Guidelines, attending to technical enquiries and follow up and any
other related functions. Other servicing includes Survey & risk improvement
follow up.
  • To prepare Underwriting files for New Business (including but not limited to
gathering and inputting required data into Underwriting system, compiling
market research, completing raters, and complete other pre-quote tasks i.e:
request survey, obtain loss ratio data from relevant departments)
  • Prepare, update, issue and follow up quotes.
  • Act as first point of contact for processing related matters with operations.
  • To liaising with operations to resolve queries regarding New Business
submissions to ensure these are registered in a timely manner
  • To liaise with brokers and internal departments for claims and risk information
  • Chasing distribution for outstanding binding instructions or subjectivities
  • Responsible in assisting Distribution and Underwriting team on all post binding
activities including mid-term endorsement request
  • Creation of urgent/adhoc documents
  • Proactive engagement with Underwriting team, Distribution and other
stakeholders to ensure new accounts status are on track, up to date and updated
in system.
  • Support the development and implementation of business processing tools by
performing UAT
  • Any other ad hoc duties allocated by the Portfolio Manager.
Service Delivery & Quality Adherence
  • Build good working relationships with underwriting team and ensure that local
underwriting management are regularly communicated with and kept updated
on appropriate issues
  • Build good working relationships with third party provider, proactively monitor
and support the completion of outsourced processes, ensuring agreed service
standards and quality levels are met
  • To support the Underwriting community through liaison with and participation
at meetings with brokers, internal departments and external advisers
  • To provide general assistance to underwriters for broker and/or client visits and
other administrative duties as agreed with Operations Team Leader/Supervisor
  • To independently handle requests and queries from customers where
appropriate
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments and staff to resolve first level
customer complaintsQualifications:Skills
\xe2\x96\xaa Underwriting / marketing proficiency in commercial product lines gained through at least two of the
following areas: underwriting / marketing, sales/ marketing, product management, and claims and
/or risk assessment.
\xe2\x96\xaa Knowledge, skills and abilities: Portfolio Business, Excel, Power Point, Excel, underwriting rating
tools, and/or other relevant software applications.
\xe2\x96\xaa Capability to work independently and Willingness to work within a high-performance team.
\xe2\x96\xaa Superior communications and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with producers, customers
and all levels of the organization in English.Experience
  • Years of experience:
3 years working experience in insurance businessQualifications
  • Diploma/Bachelor or Master Degree in business or related field
