Job Description


The AVP of Retailing is responsible for conducting feasibility studies and formulating plans and strategies for the development of theme park merchandising, from layout planning to business commencement. This role drives strategies to increase business volume, optimize profits, maximize operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards across all business units. The AVP also focuses on meeting customer expectations and enhancing the overall retail experience.Key Responsibilities: * Strategic Planning and Development:

  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop strategies for new retail developments within the theme park.
  • Formulate action plans to drive headcount, increase business volume, and optimize profit margins.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety requirements across all retail units.
  • Analyze industry practices in international parks to develop business models that achieve forecasted profit margins and meet customer expectations.
  • Tenant and Merchandise Management:
  • Plan, manage, and develop an appropriate tenant mix for all retail spaces to attract customers and maximize returns.
  • Monitor tenant activities and rental payment terms to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, consultants, and agents to determine merchandise categories that align with intellectual properties (IPs) and customer preferences.
  • Review and approve merchandise designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and align with customer expectations.
  • Analyze customer preferences and plan inventory levels to support new business initiatives.
  • Operational Efficiency and Innovation:
  • Liaise with Development and Construction departments to ensure retail spaces are built according to requirements and monitor renovation progress.
  • Evaluate and implement point-of-sale systems that meet operational needs and generate analytical reports to study customer buying trends and behaviors.
  • Develop new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to meet world-class operational standards.
  • Create promotional activities and collaborate with internal and external parties to drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Identify the strengths of subordinates and assign appropriate projects, providing guidance and evaluating performance.
  • Develop training programs, teambuilding activities, and motivational initiatives to enhance team competencies and morale.
  • Formulate action plans to train and motivate staff according to their skill levels and career development needs.
  • Review customer feedback and formulate action plans to address concerns, ensuring timely and professional responses in collaboration with Legal and PR departments.
  • Marketing and Customer Engagement:
  • Create awareness of show performances, activities, and events within the park to drive footfall.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to develop new opportunities, strengthen existing promotions, and create innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Continuously interact with internal teams to identify new opportunities and enhance customer experiences.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably within the theme park or entertainment industry.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and customer service best practices.
