The Assistant /Sales & Events Manager leads the Sales & Events Team in achieving room, banquet, and event sales targets while developing strong client relationships, exploring new business opportunities, and ensuring high standards of customer service and profitability for the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate the Sales & Events Team to achieve individual and team sales & events targets.
Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue from rooms, banquets, corporate accounts, and events.
Identify and secure new business opportunities through networking, sales calls, presentations, and client visits.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents, event organizers, and business partners.
Negotiate contracts, packages, and pricing with clients in line with hotel policies and profit goals.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with the Marketing Department on promotions, digital campaigns, and branding initiatives.
Provide accurate sales forecasts, prepare regular sales reports, and present updates to senior management.
Ensure proper documentation, timely communication, and coordination with Operations, Kitchen, Banquet, and Front Office teams to deliver seamless client experiences.
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and training sessions for the Sales & Events Team to enhance skills and productivity.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and business gatherings to promote the property.
Maintain high standards of client service and act as the escalation point for key accounts.
Perform any other duties or ad-hoc assignments as required by the management to support the Director of Sales & Marketing and overall hotel objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel sales, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong understanding of hotel operations, market dynamics, and revenue management principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems (e.g., Opera, Delphi, or similar).
Ability to work under pressure, with a results-driven and customer-focused mindset.
