Position Summary



Dynamic and results-driven Assistant Shop Manager to oversee daily outlet operations, lead and motivate the retail team, and drive sales performance to achieve revenue targets. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent communication skills, capable of ensuring operational excellence, delivering top-notch customer experience, and implementing strategies to maximize store profitability while upholding the company's brand standards.

1. Team Leadership & Supervision



Lead, coach, and motivate Retail Assistants / Promoters to achieve individual and outlet sales targets. Schedule and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours. Monitor staff performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback for improvement. Ensure all team members comply with company policies, SOPs, and sales standards. Conduct regular team briefings to align staff on promotions, targets, and operational updates. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance employee engagement. Identify training needs and arrange on-the-job training to develop staff skills. Mentor potential future leaders within the team for succession planning.

2. Outlet Operations Management



Oversee daily store operations, including opening, closing, and shift handovers. Ensure proper execution of merchandising, display, and promotional activities. Monitor stock levels, conduct regular and random stock takes, and coordinate with the warehouse or merchandising team for replenishments. Ensure compliance with safety, security, and loss prevention measures. Handle customer escalations and resolve issues promptly to maintain satisfaction. Monitor outlet cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with health & safety regulations. Ensure accurate price tagging, product labelling, and promotional signage. Coordinate with admin teams for timely repair and upkeep of store equipment and fixtures. Oversee backroom organisation, storage, and adherence to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) inventory rotation. Ensure proper handling of defective, returned, or damaged goods according to SOP. Implement and monitor waste control measures to reduce shrinkage and unnecessary losses. Ensure all operational records (logbooks, checklists, daily sales reports) are accurately completed. Plan and implement seasonal layout changes to optimise space and highlight high-margin products. Coordinate and support in-store events or roadshows to attract customer traffic.

3. Sales & Revenue Growth



Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed monthly outlet revenue targets. Analyse sales reports and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and promotional campaigns. Motivate and train staff on sales techniques and product knowledge to improve conversion rates. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge. Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and brand loyalty. Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective in-store promotions. Track and improve key sales metrics such as Average Transaction Value (ATV) and Units Per Transaction (UPT).

4. Administrative & Reporting Duties



Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for management review. Manage petty cash, cash float, and ensure accurate cashiering reconciliation. Maintain proper documentation for stock movement, staff attendance, and operational records. Ensure timely submission of reports, incident logs, and other required documentation. Review and approve staff timesheets, leave applications, and overtime requests. Liaise with HR for recruitment, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews.

5. Additional Responsibilities



Ensure compliance with all local laws, licensing, and regulatory requirements for retail operations. Develop contingency plans for emergencies (e.g., power outages, system failures, staff shortages). Act as the main point of contact between the store and head office or management team. Represent the company professionally in dealing with suppliers, vendors, and service providers. Continuously seek cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service. Lead by example in customer service excellence, grooming standards, and work ethics.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
