An exciting Associate Director, Business Development job is now available at a global medical communication company. You will be reporting to the Regional Director of Business Development and Sales Excellence. This job will lead a business development team primarily focused on acquiring and maintaining client accounts through adept and consultative sales initiatives, while also overseeing the operations within Malaysia.

About the Associate Director, Business Development Role:
The Associate Director, Business Development is responsible for cultivating trustworthy client relationships and instil a profound understanding of key client accounts. This objective of this role is to recommend top-tier medical communication solutions that not only surpass client expectations but also align with financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage profit and loss for assigned strategic business units to achieve revenue and profit growth targets, along with associated key performance indicators
• Lead strategic account planning and business development activities to identify growth opportunities, maximising the full potential of target client accounts
• Cultivate consultative relationships with clients, gaining a deep understanding to proactively champion and promote multi-channel solutions that exceed client expectations and drive account growth
• Develop and deliver best-in-class new business pitches in collaboration with the team, ensuring proposals are innovative and relevant
• Manage client and procurement negotiations to establish agreement and preferred supplier status with key accounts while maintaining profitability
• Oversee business and internal operations/delivery teams (direct and indirect/matrix management) to develop and deliver strategic and impactful solutions for clients
• Set clear goals and expectations for direct reports and conduct regular performance, training, and career development reviews
• Provide training as required for new and existing staff to meet standards and address training and development needs
• Develop and execute an entrepreneurial omnichannel strategy to pivot the existing consumer/patient platform, aiming to increase audience, engagement and exceed revenue targets

To succeed in this Associate Director, Business Development job, you must be commercial-minded with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities. You should have strong strategic acumen in helping clients with their business and portray strong leadership skills.

Key Requirements:

• At least eight years of sales, marketing, business development or key account management experience ideally in a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical or equivalent environment
• Experience managing a matrix structure to achieve results
