What is the opportunity?

The Finance team at RBC Malaysia provides Finance and Accounting support to RBC Malaysia locally, in addition to all of RBC's businesses in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The Finance operations in Malaysia is the Center of Expertise for APAC Finance, providing Accounts Payable, Financial Control, Product Control and Performance Management services. The objectives for Malaysia Finance is to provide First Class accounting services to our stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to enable onshore Finance teams to fulfil their roles as valued Finance business partners.

As an Associate Director, you will be responsible to lead the Financial Control and Performance Management of the Malaysia entities, manage the Management Information Reporting COE and provide APAC Business Partners MI production support in line with SLAs, own all Finance Regulatory, Statutory and Head Office reporting for Malaysia entities, play a leading role in Malaysia's annual business planning process and reporting of results against plan, act as SME and Finance Business Partner for key local stakeholders, including OC members and play a key role in the strategy and management of the broader Malaysia Finance Management team.

What will you do?

Build and manage a Finance COE to support all businesses in the region, providing a quality and cost effective service for financial accounting deliverables outsourced to Malaysia.

Assist with the Annual Budget and regular forecast for Malaysia businesses and in partnership with the business / function managers.

Review the financial reports prepared and attend meetings set with various stakeholders for financial presentation

Enhance the business partnering capabilities of Malaysia Finance in support of country and business strategies.

Manage the Management Information Reporting COE and provide APAC Business Partners MI production support in line with SLAs

Conduct robust reviews of business and function costs, recommend and support cost saving initiatives.

Manage the financial accounting records for both Malaysian entities. This includes, but not limited to: reviewing the non-trading P&L, monthly balance-sheet attestation and attend monthly meetings with HO.

Manage the team to ensure all reporting are in line with RBC and statutory requirements, e.g. Standard of Documentation packages, SOX, GL attestation, local regulatory survey and declaration, and Finance and Tax submissions to home authorities.

Manage the team to complete the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Actively participate in local and global projects, including assisting in driving continuous process improvements, such as report standardisation and centralisation of processes.

Maintain standard, centralized processes where applicable to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of management reporting.

Ensure documentation such as procedure notes are current, and maintained in line with best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Degree and Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) required.

Minimum 10 years in relevant experience in Audit, Financial Accounting, Tax, Management Reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis

Professional Accounting Qualification required (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc

Working knowledge and application of accounting concepts within a Financial Institutio

Advanced knowledge of Exc

Strong written and verbal communicate

Attention to detail

Nice-to-have

Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and prioritize work according to strategic goals.

High level of collaboration and conflict management, including a thoughtful approach to gaining organizational buy-in.
