Job Title Associate Director, Middle Office



What will you do?

  • The Middle Office team is responsible for the provision of outsourced Middle Office services on behalf of our clients. RBC I&TS\xe2\x80\x99 Middle Office service offering spans across four distinct modules, namely, Trade Management, Collateral Management, Corporate Actions and Investment Book of Records.
  • In this role, you will have BAU responsibility for key tasks/functions in the regional Middle Office team in Malaysia, forming an integral part of our Global Operating Model in providing operational support in all major time zones. You will participate and support a range of tactical and strategic initiatives aligned to the global Middle Office product strategy and operating model. Additionally, you will work closely with the Middle Office Product team to tailor our services ensuring we meet our client\xe2\x80\x99s needs today and in the future.
  • In this role, you will have day-to-day responsibility for the Middle Office team and the associated clients MO supports. The timely/accurate management of Client trades, managing BAU Operational Risk and ensuring high level of client service/experience and the cornerstones of MO Operations.
  • Reporting to regional Middle Office Director in Malaysia (as well as dotted line into Director in Canada) the role will be to ensure all client deliverables are met, find efficiencies in current processes and reduce overall risk by standardizing processes across the teams\xe2\x80\x99 functions.
  • You will identify, manage and lead quality initiatives in an effort to enhance the service we provide to our clients, via both internal and external service and client groups. The successful candidate will establish and implement improved controls in order to maintain the integrity of the groups functions and achieve high standard levels expected by our clients
  • You will need to develop, own and drive relationships throughout the Middle Office value chain from Client Coverage, Operational Risk, Client Experience, Product, Technology all the way
  • You will support the accelerated growth of MO across all modules and ensure the required business continuity and resiliency
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 10-15 years\xe2\x80\x99 financial services industry experience in an operations environment
  • Understanding of core Middle Office Operations / Transaction flow
  • Superior interpersonal & networking skills with a proven track record of dealing with clients, industry associates, senior management, colleagues & staff. Detailed risk and performance management
