Job Description


Role Responsibilities

The jobholder will build on an already deep understanding of the buying behaviour and requirements of Clients vs the product (and regional) capabilities across Financing and Securities Services (FSS) specifically for Trustee services. He/ She will assist on building the trust company \xe2\x80\x93 SCBMB Trustee Berhad by following up and closing commercially viable and realistic mandates that will provide sustained growth in revenue. The jobholder will also be assisting the CEO on day-to-day matters of the trust company including but not limited to governance and risk matters. The jobholder will work with a strategic mindset and mobilise stakeholders across Product, Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance and Technology \xe2\x80\x93 whilst staying on strategy.

Strategy

  • Assist SCBMBT CEO and BOD to drive short and long term priorities, focus segment and strategy plan relating to the Trustee business
Processes
  • Function as Fund Trustee knowledge centre to support SCBMBT, FSS team and other internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders on due diligence required to on-board new Fund Trustee clients.
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of responsibilities of SCBMBT
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations covering trustees and appropriate discharge of fiduciary duties imposed on SCBMBT and conduct regular reviews to ensure any fiduciary risk are being addressed.
  • Liaise with CCIB Compliance on breach reporting / other regulatory reporting applicable to Trustee\xe2\x80\x99s business.
  • Manage unit holders / fund managers complaints handling and reporting.
  • Works closely with Client Coverage, Client Solutions, Legal, On-boarding, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure smooth and speedy transition from mandate to live client.
  • Ensure all processes across Financing and Securities Services are followed in line with approved standards, policies and procedures, including Trustee Department Operating Instructions (DOI).
  • Liaison with external and internal auditors to ensure scheme audit on the CIS funds are duly conducted, audited financials of the scheme are provided to the unit holders and audit points are addressed.
  • Handle Fund Trustee intragroup outsourcing arrangement related tasks, including but not limited to incremental outsourcing application, update of service level agreement / updates of system, quarterly service review meetings and provision of information required for annual periodic risk review.

Risk Management
  • Proactively maintains an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual and the team play in managing them.
  • Ensures all regulatory and compliance initiatives surrounding the Trustee business are understood and adhered to, and escalates any concerns through management, and other channels, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify and mitigate the Operational, Regulatory and Business conduct risks relating to Trustee
  • Ensure country compliance on Group standard for Audit, Control and financial reporting including reporting of risks to relevant risk forums.
  • Work closely with operations, intragroup service provider and external vendors to improve overall risk management, controls, service standards, platform, and solution customizations and to ensure that quality of service to customers remains superior to competition
  • Oversight and execute required due diligence on internal and external service providers
Governance
  • Ensure that all operating memorandum, DOIs and service level agreements (internal and external) are regularly reviewed and updated
  • Provide senior level support to the team in ensuring internal audit standards are followed and reflected in process guides
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations to embed Compliance Risk monitoring as an integral part of the business process
  • Assist in regular review of Fund Trustee governance framework (including Fiduciary Services Product Program) and fiduciary risk assessment
Regulatory & Business Conduct
