We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Associate Director, Value-based Intermediation and Sustainability Advisory.

Role Purpose:

Lead and manage all Value-based Intermediation (VBI) related matters ranging from ensuring effective delivery of VBI strategy for the bank. Championing existing VBI products development in ensuring they are market competitive and are aligned with the bank\xe2\x80\x99s VBI objectives and overarching Group\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability commitments.

The role-holder will be a Key liaison representing HSBC Amanah on VBI-related engagements with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. regulators such as BNM) and provide support to Project Cocoon Director on delivery of initiatives under Cocoon which includes the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) initiatives.

The incumbent will also support Lines of Businesses in Sustainability Advisory in relation to Sustainable Finance and Clients\xe2\x80\x99 Transition Plan Assessments as they transition to a lower carbon economy.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead the delivery of HSBC Amanah\xe2\x80\x99s VBI strategies in increasing the uptake of existing and newly developed sustainable financing solution that are aligned with HBMS\xe2\x80\x99 ambition and Group\xe2\x80\x99s sustainability commitments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to all stakeholders on VBI-related matters and products.
  • Proactively work with stakeholders across business and functions to ensure HSBC Amanah\xe2\x80\x99s VBI-integrated products are well-positioned and remained competitive in the market.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders which includes facilitating and contributing to regulatory and industry engagement on VBI and sustainability agenda such as the Joint Climate Change
  • Engagement with internal stakeholders (CEO of HSBC Amanah, Programme Director of Cocoon, HBMS PMO, HBMS EXCO, businesses) to drive effective delivery of VBI strategies within the bank
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Line of Businesses in the area of sustainability to promote uptake of sustainable finance for HBMS
  • Prepare materials and conduct VBI and sustainability related training to promote awareness on those subject matter among Line of Businesses
  • Lead VBI and sustainability related reporting matters for HBMS such as TCFD and industry reports
  • Champion customer and employee advocacy on VBI and sustainability as a strategic transformation program.
  • Exhibit leadership in tackling challenging situations and stakeholder management in delivering desired outcomes in line with VBI and HBMS\xe2\x80\x99 business objectives.
  • Coordination with businesses and support functions in HSBC Amanah on daily basis to ensure alignment on VBI interest within the bank.
  • Foster collaboration with all stakeholders by ensuring adoption of a joint approach with HSBC teams in country to achieve VBI and HBMS\xe2\x80\x99 targeted outcomes.
  • Ensure all VBI strategies and initiatives are aligned with Group and regional sustainability commitments and policies.
  • Govern risk responsibly insofar as this relates to VBI - development of effective risk and issues tracker(s) for use by VBI stakeholders.
  • Provide support to PMO in the transformation initiatives of HBMS taking into account adherence to group policies.
Requirements
  • A bachelor\'s degree in any discipline, preferably in business related field.
  • The candidate should have 5 - 10 years in project management, with general exposure to business, operations and sustainability.
  • Candidate is a team player and also a natural leader who has an apt and comfort in leading a team with a variety of skill sets.
  • Strong management and governance skills covering relevant structure and operations requirement for project execution.
  • Strong verbal skills and a proven, progressive management experience.
  • Excellent understanding of required factors affecting enterprise organisational behaviour changes
  • Preference for candidates with past business management experience.
