Academic, Full Time (Contract)

Location: Miri, Sarawak

We are seeking to appoint a teaching focus Lecturer/Associate Lecturer to join the School of Pre-University and Continuing Education (SPACE) on a contract basis.

The role holder will be involved in delivering Foundation and Diploma teaching and supervision as well as short courses.

Your key responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Deliver learning activities face to face, distributed or online as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning.

\xc2\xb7 Assess and provide feedback on learning to students.

\xc2\xb7 Proactively engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and contribute significantly to engagement and external community as part of the department\xe2\x80\x99s aspiration to engage in meaningful partnership within Curtin and the surrounding communities.

Selection Criteria:

\xc2\xb7 Minimum, a bachelor degree in Information Technology or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated teaching experience in Foundation or to students of the same level/age group of Foundation and familiar with online teaching tools.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to develop/prepare teaching resources and assessments suitable to pre-university level.

\xc2\xb7 Established high level teaching skills with a reflective approach to teaching delivery.

\xc2\xb7 An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.

\xc2\xb7 A strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practise relevant to the discipline.

\xc2\xb7 A high level of English verbal and written communication.

\xc2\xb7 High level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.

\xc2\xb7 Contribution to an active role in academic service and proven evidence of effective leadership within the department/faculty level as appropriate to the level of appointment.
