Associate Market Access Manager, Malaysia/Indonesia

Location: Malaysia

As the Associate Market Access Manager, you will support and implement market access strategies and tactical plans for the Pharmaceutical business in Malaysia and Indonesia. The primary objective of this role is to assist in improving business outcomes by enhancing market access opportunities and improving reimbursement and pricing strategies across all access channels. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs, to ensure successful market entry and sustained growth of products.
Responsibilities:
1. Support Market Access Strategies: Facilitate the development and implementation of relevant strategies to improve the positioning of innovative pharmaceutical products across both countries and in all access channels.
2. Tactical Plan Execution: Contribute to the execution of tactical plans designed to address specific challenges and growth opportunities of the business in all access channels.
3. Reimbursement: Assist in the assessment and optimization of reimbursement and pricing strategies to ensure appropriate pricing, levels of access, and sustainable revenue generation.
4. Pricing: Ability to co-create a business case for a new product or repricing of an existing product to address a business opportunity.
5. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct detailed market research, including analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and reimbursement policies, to identify market access barriers and opportunities.
6. Collaboration and Customer Management: Collaborate with internal teams, to align on strategies with broader business goals. Build and maintain relationships with key external partners, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, payers, and healthcare providers.
7. Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR): Support the generation of health economic data to demonstrate the value proposition of products and facilitate market access negotiations, as required.
8. Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate activities across different departments to ensure timely execution of market access initiatives and alignment with business objectives.
9. Training and Education: Provide relevant training to internal teams on market access-related topics, such as reimbursement processes, access strategies for self-pay market, health technology assessment (HTA), and healthcare policies in Malaysia/ Indonesia.
10. Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry guidelines, and company policies related to market access activities.

You will be someone with:

  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2years of experience in market access, health economics, pricing, reimbursement, or related roles within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or Health Technology Assessment (HTA)/Payer body is preferred. Experience in the Malaysian or Indonesian healthcare system and market access landscape is helpful.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare systems, market access strategies, and pricing/reimbursement dynamics in Malaysia. Indonesia would be a bonus. Familiarity with health technology assessment (HTA) processes, and pricing is advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing data, and generating insights to inform market access strategies. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities are essential.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Malay and English with the ability to effectively communicate complex market access concepts to internal and external partners. Consistent track record to collaborate and establish collaborations with other teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proven flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and navigate challenges.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulations, pricing and reimbursement guidelines, and policies governing the pharmaceutical industry in Malaysia/ Indonesia is advantageous.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
