This position is located in the UNODC Programme Office in Malaysia (POMAL) with duty station in Kuala Lumpur, Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP), Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific (ROSEAP), Division for Operations (DO), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) operates under the Border Management Branch (BMB), Division for Operations (DO). The Associate Programme Officer (GMCP) will work under the overall guidance of the Senior Programme Officer heading the Global Maritime Crime Programme, and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator for Southeast Asia and Pacific, Global Maritime Crime Programme. The work will be carried out in close coordination with the Border Management Branch (BMB) and the Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific (ROSEAP) and substantive units at headquarters, as well as relevant field offices.

Within assigned authority, the Associate Programme Officer (GMCP) will assist in the implementation of activities being carried out in Malaysia under a UNODC GMCP sub-programme, which aims to increase regional capacities to plan, train for, and respond to maritime transnational organized crime.
