Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineering Manager with expertise in PHP
(Laravel) to lead our backend team and ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our
backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep technical
knowledge, and experience working with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management:

? Lead, mentor, and manage a team of backend engineers.
? Establish best engineering practices and ensure code quality.
? Conduct performance reviews, training, and career development planning for team
members.
? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.

2. Backend Architecture & Development:

? Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of backend services.
? Develop and optimize APIs and microservices using PHP (Laravel)
? Implement efficient database architectures using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and
Redis.
? Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of backend systems.

3. Performance Optimization & Security:

? Monitor and optimize database queries and backend performance.
? Implement caching strategies using Redis to enhance speed and efficiency.
? Enforce security best practices for API authentication and data protection.

4. DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure:

? Work with AWS, GCP to deploy and maintain backend services.
? Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
? Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

5. Cross-Team Collaboration & Communication:

? Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to
deliver seamless products.
? Communicate technical challenges and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements & Qualifications:

? Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or
equivalent experience.
? Experience: 6+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2+ years in a
leadership role.
? Backend Technologies: Strong expertise in PHP (Laravel, Symfony) and Node.js
(Express, NestJS).
? Databases: Proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
? API Development: Experience in RESTful and GraphQL API design.
? Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
? Microservices & Scalability: Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and
RabbitMQ/Kafka.
? Security & Performance: Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, OpenID, SSL/TLS, and
database indexing techniques.

Preferred Skills:

? Experience with serverless architectures.
? Familiarity with high-traffic web applications and real-time systems.
? Experience with ElasticSearch for full-text search capabilities.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
