Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

Backup Engineer

to join their data center support team. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in

Commvault backup solutions

, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations. This role involves hands-on support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing backup solutions across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Gather requirements, install, configure, and test backup solutions in a high-availability enterprise environment. Maintain and operate enterprise-wide backup solutions in the data center. Monitor and manage backup jobs across multiple platforms. Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend solutions. Perform backup-to-disk and offsite storage operations using replication technology. Install, configure, and troubleshoot backup software on Windows, Linux, UNIX, and VMware platforms. Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and process guides. Perform vendor best practice reviews and implement changes as needed. Manage, maintain, and configure Commvault components, including Libraries, Deduplication Databases, Media Agents, Policies, and Schedules. Work with vendors to remediate security issues within the Commvault environment. Operate and maintain Quantum, IBM, and HPE tape library platforms. Support disaster recovery testing and backup validation activities.

Requirements

Minimum

5 years of experience

administering enterprise backup tools (bare metal and virtualization environments). Strong expertise in

Commvault Complete Data Protection

systems and architecture. Hands-on experience with

Windows/Linux OS

and

VMware virtualization

. Knowledge of scripting and automation:

Windows PowerShell, Bash, CLI

. Experience with

SAN/FC networks

and

TCP/IP communications

. Familiarity with VMware snapshots and workflows. Experience with

LTO tape media handling

. Strong commitment to continuous improvement and best practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Experience in financial institution backup requirements is an advantage.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
