Backup Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Backup Engineer to be part of a team of engineers who provide data center backup support using Commvault backups. The candidate should have experience in disaster recovery and Continuity of Operations Plan experience. The candidate will perform various roles including, but not limited to, research and design activities, testing, installation, configuration and hardening, backup validation, and general systems monitoring and response.

Responsibilities

Responsible for gathering requirements, installation, configuration, and testing of backups in a high availability enterprise system Maintain and operate an enterprise backup solution in data center Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions Backup to disk for offsite storage operations using replication technology Install, configure, and troubleshoot backup software packages on multiple operating systems including Windows, Linux, UNIX, VMware Develop documentation related to processes, systems, and access Perform Vendor best practice reviews and SOPs to documents changes Update, maintain, and configure CommVault deployment in Windows 2016 operating systems Manage, maintain, and configure CommVault Libraries, Dedup Databases, Media Agents, Policies and Schedules to satisfy customer requirements Work with vendor support to remediate security issues within the CommVault architecture Maintain and operate Quantum, IBM and HPE tape library platforms, backup to disk and off-site backup operations using replication technology

Requirements

5 years' experience to administrative Backup tools for bare metal, virtualization environment. In-depth knowledge of CommVault Complete Data Protection backup systems and architecture Experience and understand well Operating System (Windows/Linux) and virtualization (VMware) Experience with both Windows PowerShell, Bash shell scripting and CLI skills are advantages Experience with SAN and FC networkso Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications VMware snapshots and workflowo Experience in handling LTO tape media Commitment to continuous development and improvement Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills Experience in financial institution backup solution sets and requirement is a plus
Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month

Experience:

Backup admin: 3 years (Required) Shell Scripting: 1 year (Preferred) * Bash (Unix shell): 1 year (Preferred)
