Summary:
We are looking for a talented Graphic/Web Designer to join our dynamic and international team. This is a great opportunity to craft strategic design executions for new and growing brands around the world. Our design work is based on design thinking and it covers a broad spectrum of design: from logo and visual identity design to presentation design, and from print to digital/web design. The ideal Graphic/Web Designer we need will be responsible for creative output, ideation and execution of design solutions.

Baru is a global brand builder that aims to develop early stage brands. We partner founders and entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas and the drive to create a better future. We are launching our new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where you will be working closely with a global team of graphic-, web- designers, video editor, social media manager and creative directors. Baru is a newly formed company under the Launchpad Group of Companies which is a global investment firm with operations in Asia, Switzerland and USA.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a cross functional team and contribute to the creative process to create compelling designs.
- Work directly with creative director in the design of logos, websites, visual identities, engaging and meaningful pitch presentations and decks.
- Design editorial materials like brochures, newsletters and annual report.
- Defining user profiles, mapping out user journeys and conveying concepts through wireframes, flows, storyboards, and mockups.
- Translate brand guidelines into effective design works.
- Work collaboratively with the social media specialists to create visual approaches (i.e infographics, charts, etc) and graphic assets to ensure a consistent, integrated brand perception.
- Update and maintain CMS platforms.
- Help with visual research and ensure that our creative remains leading edge.
- Provide ideas on new tools to create better work and work more efficiently.

The successful applicant has:
- Good proficiency in English (spoken and written) is a must
- Has an amazing portfolio that showcases your excellent typography, illustrative skills and design problem solving abilities
- Bachelor’s in graphic design or a related field, or significantly equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years work experience as a graphic designer.
- Working experience in illustration is a huge plus!
- Experience in UX/UI design, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Powerpoint.
- Experience in Adobe XD, Adobe Spark and Keynote is a great plus!
- A keen understanding of prototyping and the ability to receive, interpret, and implement constructive feedback.
- Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude and a supportive team member with leadership qualities
- An aim for pixel-, kerning-, font size-, layout balance perfection
- A keen learner with an open mind for new challenges. You are willing to bring new ideas to the table and take ownership to drive these ideas.
