Job Description

The Chef we are looking for is required to be well experienced in cooking the Indian Cuisine
(South Indian Tamil and Kerala, Basic North, food varieties).

Job Responsibilities:
1. Overall responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations including cooking, ingredients preparation, packing, cleaning works, etc.
2. Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
3. Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions and events.
4. Supervises all kitchen areas and staffs to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced.
5. Be in charge of managing and training kitchen staff.
6. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports.
7. Cultivate an environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
8. In charge of procurement of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
9. Ensure food stuffs are of a good quality and stored correctly.
10. Comply with all health, safety, and operation regulations.

Job Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the food catering industry.
2. Well experienced in Indian Cuisine.
3. Must be able to work on weekends and on public holidays.
4. Familiar with Food Health and Safety Standards.
5. Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
6. A professional attitude with strong work ethic and communication skills.
7. Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to speak Tamil would be a plus.
